Samsung M8 Monitor Review – Recently Samsung Launched the upgraded version of the M7 series monitor, the Samsung M8 Series (LS32BM801UNXGO). You can call this an intelligent monitor that gives you more features like streaming apps, a webcam, voice assistance,
and a 32 inches 4K HDR10 display with a 60Hz refresh rate and USB Type C connectivity for better productivity connectivity. The monitor focuses on Multimedia and productivity, The monitor work with the Tizen operating system but there are many bad things about this monitor if you wondering about adding this machine to your working setup.
The design of this monitor is very impressive but the build quality is not as premium, also the stand is not fully adjustable, and as working monitor adjustability is the main key factor that decides whether a monitor is well or not because it gives you perfect viewing angles to a comfortable position.
Samsung M8 Monitor Review
The Samsung M8 (LS32BM801UNXGO) offers a 32 inches 4K resolution HDR10 display with a 60Hz refresh rate and there is no FreeSync/G-Sync in this monitor that is useful for gaming. It has a webcam that you make video calls or record video, also it has Alexa and Bixby support which you can get a lot more information and give a command such as turning on the lights by smart home.
The monitor comes with the most popular streaming apps that you can watch your favorite movies and shows directly from home so that’s a very good feature.
Build and Design
The Samsung M8 looks very nice and attractive design but the build quality is not great, It doesn’t feel premium. The stand is very similar to Apple’s iMac, very slim, and offers many color options that are very good, the one bad thing about this monitor is the stand is not fully adjustable so you can use swivel/portrait, and the monitor is not wall mountable.
For a working monitor, adjustability is one of the important things that give you more comfortable viewing angles. Samsung should care about the built quality, adjustability, and premium feel, People will accept this monitor even if the price tag is more than 1000$.
The Samsung M8 only has height and tilt adjustability, and you can’t mount the monitor to the wall.
Samsung tried to compete with the iMac but the build quality and premium feelings are missing in the M8, also the iMac has 5K and is overall better for content creation.
The weight of this monitor is 6.8 kg, and the dimensions are 8 x 28.1 x 22.6 inches.
The Samsung M8 comes with a 32 inches 4K HDR10 display with slim bezels, The colors are so good and look very stunning. The contrast is good but the HDR peak brightness is a little low with weaker horizontal/vertical angles quality.
The reflection handling of this monitor is a little weak, but the overall picture quality is good one big con of this monitor regarding quality is the horizontal and vertical viewing angles. Otherwise, it’s a very good monitor with good image outputs.
It has a 60Hz refresh rate and there is no FreeSync/G-Sync for smooth gameplay and the monitor is not good for gaming. Performance-wise good at working purposes, there is no big issue while any type of work in this monitor. The USB Type C ports help you to connect and transfer data easily with your Mac devices.
The monitor comes with HDMI and USB Type C ports, there is no Displayport and a 3.5mm jack.
4K, HDR10, USB Type C Port, look.
Build Quality, Horizontal/Vertical viewing angles, No DisplayPort, Adjustability.
These are then the main competitors of the Samsung M8 monitor –
The GIGABYTE M32U is a fantastic monitor with all-rounder capabilities, It has 32 inches 4K UHD DisplayHDR 400, AMD FreeSync, and a 144Hz refresh rate that will help you to play smooth gameplay, also it has a USB Type C port, and stand fully adjustable so you can adjust the height of the monitor with swivel, tilt, and portrait. This is one of the best monitors you can choose, you can get massive picture quality with power pack gameplay performance.
2. LG 27UN850-W
Another better option with less price tag than the Samsung M8 monitor is, It has 27 inches 4K UHD DisplaHDR 400, FreeSync. The image quality is superb with a USB Type C port, adjustable stand, and overall better performance with a 60Hz refresh rate. The monitor is very good in this price range which the M8 doesn’t offer.
The ViewSonic VP2756-4K is way better than the Samsung M8 series, It has 27 inches 4K display with more vibrant color outputs and better connectivity options including a USB Type C port. The stand is fully adjustable which gives you a comfortable viewing angle while working on this monitor.
I think Samsung needs to invest more in build quality and better adjustability with few good viewing angles, there are many good options in the market that you can choose for your work or gaming. Overall I will recommend the GIGABYTE M32U, It’s an all-rounder monitor but if you want to get only a work monitor then Lg and Viewsonic are also good options for the Samsung M8 monitor. I hope this post clarifies the confusion and gives you a proper reason for buying a perfect monitor for your needs.
