LG 45GR65DC-B Review – If you are looking for a large display gaming monitor with a better HDR experience and a low price tag then the LG 45GR65DC-B is the perfect for you. It has a 44.5 inch 1500R curved VA panel with 200Hz max refresh rate and DisplayHDR 600 and Adaptive-Sync technology that gives you a buttery smooth gameplay experience without any screen tearing or blurry visuals at high settings.

Most gamers want a bigger display for better viewing space so the content shows more details and is sharper to handle the game. Still, there are no budget options in the bigger display segment, like some of the Odyssey G9 series, Dell, and Asus series all are in the high budget even some LG monitors but this is exceptional.

Build and Design

The LG 45GR65DC-B is made from strong plastic with thin bezels that look very nice, The design is new here otherwise all LG monitors look very same but this looks like an Odyssey series monitor but the difference is the v-shape stand and backside design. The v-shape stand takes up a little bit of space on a desk but the size of the monitor needs support so the stand is wider than usual.

The stand supports higher adjustments so you can change the position of the display to a comfortable position also you can change the angle by tilting the display and using swivel adjustability. The downside of the stand is it doesn’t have pivot adjustability and this is acceptable as this is a big curved monitor so this is not an easy job to add this feature to this monitor.

Talking about The weight of this monitor is 8.79 Kg with the stand which is good if you compare it with other big screen size monitors and the dimensions are 42.7″ x 22.0″ x 12.9″ (Up) 42.7″ x 17.7″ x 12.9″(Down) with the stand.

Image quality

The monitor offers a massive 44.5 inches 1500R VA curved panel with a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels, it has DisplayHDR 600 for deeper blacks and better contrast but the HDR peak brightness is not that impressive so HDR gaming can be low quality otherwise the image quality is good. The higher refresh rate and FreeSync give smooth visuals with stable graphics.

The color accuracy is not that good as this is a gaming focus monitor so it’s decent I would say. It has a DCI P3 95% color gamut that delivers okay color accuracy, you can’t expect professional-grade color accuracy for editing and graphics design work. For gaming the image quality is good, the frames are stable and the viewing is also good.

Performance

The LG 45GR65DC-B supports a peak 200Hz refresh rate with FreeSync Premium Pro that enhances over gameplay experience with blazing fast frames with super smooth graphics at high settings, you can play heavy games on this monitor without worrying about frame skips, slower response rate, or blurry visuals, flickering or screen tearing it gives you super quick response time without any lag. so overall the monitor is impressive at gaming performance you can expect what you are looking for from a gaming monitor.

The monitor comes with DisplayPort, HDMI, USB UP/DOWN stream, and audio jack.

44.5 1500R big VA panel, DisplayHDR 600, 200Hz, Adjustable stand, response time.

Comparison

These are the main competitors of the LG 45GR65DC-B –

1. SAMSUNG Odyssey Neo G7

This is a really good monitor from Samsung, It has a 43-inch 4K UHD display with a 144Hz refresh rate with DisplayHDR 600, The monitor is really good for gaming and the Odyssey series are always great options. The price tag is also very good as it supports FreeSync Premium Pro for smooth gaming and a 4K display for more clarity.

2. Gigabyte AORUS FV43U

The Gigabyte AORUS FV43U is far better than the LG 45GR65DC-B in terms of 4K resolution, USB Type C port, and better color accuracy at a very good price tag and I will recommend this monitor if you are looking for big screen gaming monitor that you can use for gaming and work both without any issues. Talking about the specs of this monitor it has a 43-inch 4k display with 144Hz refresh rate, AMD G-SYnc, USB Type C port, DCI P3 96%, and HDMI 2.1 these all make it a perfect gaming monitor also good for work as it supports USB type C port, 4K resolution, and good color accuracy.

Final words

The LG 45GR65DC-B is a sold monitor for a budget price tag and there is no better option than this if you are talking about a curved 44.5 inches monitor with a 200Hz refresh rate, but if you have slightly better resolution, color accuracy, and productivity the Gygabyte FV43U is a great option at very low cost.
